The Tulpa - Thought-form Hauntings

In Tibetan lore, monks had such a mastery over their thoughts that they could, through extended concentration, conjure physical entities to do their bidding. These beings were called tulpa. In the 1950's, this word was translated to English as "thought-form". Of course, in the lore, the tulpa took on a life of their own and had to be destroyed by their masters. As fanciful as it may sound, is it really possible that concentrated human thought can conjure something physical?

Anoka State Hospital - Visit - Summer 2010

On 7th Ave in Anoka, well beyond downtown, there is a complex of old, rather creepy looking buildings. Nowadays it's called the Anoka-Metro Regional Treatment Center, but long ago, when it first opened around 1900, it was called the First State Asylum for the Insane.

Welcome

Greetings Adventurers, and welcome to Beyond the Veil, a blog and Podcast about the strange things going on in our world.

We were inspired to do this by the sheer amount of interesting and sometimes terrifying stories and encounters that occur in Minnesota, where we so humbly reside. After years of saying that we were going to go and explore these places in person, we finally decided to start a podcast (and accompanying blog!), get off our asses, and start exploring.

Given our complete lack of experience in doing any sort of formal investigation or exploration, we hope to give our listeners a few laughs as we learn the ins and outs of  the gig.

Look for the first podcast very soon, and in the meantime, enjoy some bizarre stories and legends. Most importantly, if you have any bizarre or paranormal experiences, please send them to us at theveilislifted@gmail.com.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
